Dynamic Positioning System

We recently spent a full day on the water with John Surrency from Yacht Controller testing and tuning the DPS system on Lissie, and the results were exactly what we were hoping for. After updating the system to the latest parameters and firmware, DPS performed impressively—even in challenging mid-tide current and gusty, shifting winds.

In areas where wind and current normally overpower manual thruster control, DPS held position and heading as well as physics would allow. The ability to fine-tune thruster power limits and seamlessly blend manual input with DPS control gives the captain confidence and flexibility, especially in difficult conditions. Just as important, the system behaves predictably and safely, without introducing unnecessary risk.

What truly stands out is Yacht Controller’s commitment to support. John and the entire team have been unwavering in their dedication to making sure the system performs to our satisfaction. Their hands-on approach and willingness to continue refining the setup made all the difference.

The DPS system has given us exactly what we were looking for—the freedom to operate confidently as a husband-and-wife crew, from anywhere on the boat.

I have a Yacht Controller on my 65’ Fleming and recently upgraded to the newest and most up-to-date MAXIMO system with DPS and Wi-Fi real-time service capability, allowing any needed changes or adjustments to be made efficiently. The system is compatible with iPad, Garmin, Raymarine, and iPhone.
From the initial call with the owner, Tony, to the technicians who installed the unit, and the continued support from the internal service team, the entire experience has been outstanding. On a scale of 1 to 10, they are a solid 10.
If you are considering what type of yacht control system or company to use, look no further. Yacht Controller is the place. Their products, service, responsiveness, emails, and callbacks are truly top of the line. Highly recommended.
